Abstract

A novel photoinduced method for the synthesis of α‑keto thioamides via a thiocarbamoyl 1,4‑transposition is reported. This light‑mediated hydrogen atom transfer process enables the migration of a thiocarbamoyl group from oxygen to carbon in salicylaldehyde derivatives, proceeding under mild, catalyst‑free conditions.
