Abstract

For the first time, new Winsor type III microemulsion systems of pure H2SO4 and C4–C6 alkanes stabilized by surfactants have been discovered. Such microemulsions are promising for the liquid phase alkylation of motor fuel catalyzed by sulfuric acid. Strong positive impact of the microemulsions on the process performance was observed.
