Abstract

Enzymatic synthesis of calcium phosphate in Tris buffer with MgCl2 results in a two-fold increase in product yield compared to synthesis in water. Although some calcium positions are substituted with magnesium, both samples are classified as depleted hydroxyapatite. The Mg-containing sample exhibits higher aggregation capacity at high concentrations, resulting in reduced antimicrobial activity against gram-positive Bacillus strains.
