Abstract
A catalyst-free photochemical synthesis of 3-trifluoromethyl-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-3-ols via heterocyclization of 2-[2-(trifluoroacetyl)phenoxy]acetic acids by irradiation with 365 nm light is proposed.
