Abstract

α,β-Unsaturated esters were synthesised by LiOH·H2O-promoted reactions of triethyl phosphonoacetate 1 and triethyl 3-methyl- 4-phosphono-2-butenoate 2 with aldehydes in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim][PF6]).
