Abstract

Unnatural analogues of the anti-Alzheimer drug (−)-galanthamine have been synthesised using K3[Fe(CN)]6 at the key step to construct the novel (±)-6H-benzo[a]cyclohepta[hi]benzofuran ring system via oxidative tandem cyclization.
