Abstract
The phase transition observed in the system pyridine–cadmium nitrate at 221 K is accounted for by a polymorphous transformation of the clathrate [Cd(py)4(NO3)2]·2py and is caused by a change in the coordination metal–nitrate bond in the host–complex molecule.
