Abstract

A method for the generation of nitroformonitrile oxide (NFNO) by thermolysis of dinitrofuroxan (DNFO) has been proposed; the formation of NFNO was confirmed by IR spectroscopy and by synthesising cyclic adducts of NFNO with dipoiarophiies.
