Abstract

Reaction of [Cp^*lr(CO)₂] (Cp^*=η⁵-C₅Me₅) with gaseous HCl leads to formation of the protonated ion, [Cp^*lr(CO)₂H]⁺, both in supercritical xenon solution and in a low density polyethylene film.
