Abstract

The d-election transition metal-substituted heteropolytungstate sandwich complex [(FeII)4(B–PW9O34)2]10−, unlike PW12O403− and most polytungstophosphates, is quite stable with respect to solvolysis by H2O2 and catalyses the selective homogeneous epoxidation of alkenes in aqueous acetonitrile at 20°C by this oxidant.
