Abstract

Tetrakis[(chloromethyl)dimethylsilylethynyl]silane and -germane were synthesized by the reaction of BrMgC≡CSi(CH2Cl)Me2 with SiCl4/GeCl4. Their structures were proved by IR, NMR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis, and compared to the results of MP2/6-311G(d,p) calculations.
