Abstract

We present the synthesis and characterization of the inter-metalloid clusters R3PAuGe9(Hyp)3Pt(PPh3) [R = Et, Bu; Hyp = Si(SiMe3)3] obtained by the reaction of R3PAuGe9(Hyp)3 (R = Et, Bu) with Pt(PPh3)4. The realized cluster enlargement is also known for the neutral cluster Ge9(Et)(Hyp)3, leading, however, to a different arrangement of substituents and different dynamics in the solution.
