Abstract

The reaction of phenyl-substituted dipotassium germacyclo-pentadienediide with one equivalent of hafnocene dichloride at low temperature provides a bicyclic germylene. With two equivalents of hafnocene dichloride, a dinuclear hafnium complex with a mmm-coordinating germolyl dianion ligand is formed.
