Abstract

Reaction of (ferrocenylmethylidene)malononitrile with molecular sulfur and NaHS in PriOH/H2O medium gives (di)ferrocenyl-substituted 3-imino-, 3-oxo- and 3-thioxo-1,2-dithioles, ferrocenyl-substituted aminoisophthalonitrile and pyridine derivatives as well as products of fragmentation of the starting reactant. The posible mechanism for their formation is discussed.
