Abstract

The new complex [Cu2(H2L)Cl3] with axial chloride ions coordination based on 4-methyl-2,6-bis{[2-(4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin-2-yl)hydrazono]methyl}phenol was obtained and its crystal structure was determined. Magnetic studies revealed the presence of antiferromagnetic exchange interaction of −193 cm−1 that is extremely high for such type of complexes. The quantum chemical calculation of 2J value has perfectly matched an experiment.
