Abstract
A new GdIII complex with the tridentate chelating redox ligand 2,4,6,8-tetrakis(tert-butyl)-9-hydroxyphenoxazinone was synthesized and studied by X-ray crystallography, ESR spectroscopy and magnetic measurements. The rigid tricyclic framework of the ligands ensures the formation of a nine-coordinate environment of GdIII surrounded by three nitrogen and six oxygen atoms in the form of a tricapped trigonal prism.
