Abstract

The oxidation of the ruthenium naphthalene complex [(C5Me4CH2OH)Ru(C10H8)]+ gave the carboxylic acid [(C5Me4COOH)Ru(C10H8)]+ which was further converted into the phenylalanine amide {[C5Me4CONHCH(CH2Ph)COOMe]Ru(C10H8)}+; the structures of both acid and amide were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
