Abstract

Tetraviologen calix[4]resorcine was used as a mediator for the electrochemical reduction of [PdCl4]2–. The mediator facilitates the complex reduction to 0.6V on a glassy carbon electrode, which results in the formation of palladium metal nanoparticles with average diameters of 160 to 850nm.
