Abstract

1,3(4)-Bis[3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3-dioxopropyl]benzenes show super-strong bathochromic and hyperchromic effects in relation to dibenzoylmethane and Avobenzone, a common UV-A sunscreen agent.
