Abstract

H3PW12O40 and CsxH3–xPW12O40 supported on SiO2, MCM-41 and ZrO2 were prepared and applied as solid acid catalysts for the esterification of palm free fatty acid with methanol. The CsxH3–xPW12O40 supported catalysts are resistant to the leaching of Keggin units into the reaction medium.
