Abstract

The dimerization of the anthracene ruthenium complexes [(C5Me4R)Ru(η6-C14H10)]+ (R=Me, CH2OMe) under visible-light irradiation gives dications [(μ-η66-C28H20)Ru2(C5Me4R)2]2+ with the most distant position of the Ru(C5Me4R) fragments; the structure of [(μ-η66-C28H20)Ru2(C5Me4CH2OMe)2](PF6)2 was established by X-ray diffraction.
