Abstract

Arene exchange in the anthracene ruthenium complex [(C5Me4CH2OMe)Ru(C14H10)]+ 1 for alkylbenzenes gives the cations [(C5Me4CH2OMe)Ru(C6MenH6–n)]+ in 70–80% yields; the structure of [1][PF6] was established by X-ray diffraction analysis.
