Abstract

New 5,6-dicyanobenzofurans bearing a 2-(thi)oxotetrahydropyrimidine moiety at the 2-position were synthesized from 2-(2-dimethylaminovinyl)-5,6-dicyanobenzofurans, benzaldehydes and (thio)urea in AcOH.
