Abstract

New synthesised conjugated copolymers based on 4H-cyclopenta[2,1-b:3,4-b’]dithiophene exhibit the absorption of light in the red spectral region with the maximum at 580–590nm and optical bandgaps of 1.85–1.88eV. Organic photovoltaic cells prepared from composites of these copolymers with [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) showed the efficiency up to 0.5%.
