Abstract

Haloarenes ArHal (Hal=Br, Cl) react with arylboronic acids in supercritical carbon dioxide in the presence of a system comprising Pd(OCOCF3)2/Buchwald phosphine ligand/potassium carbonate (phosphate)/18-crown-6 to yield the corresponding cross-coupling products in high yields; all chlorine atoms in di- and tetrachloroarenes are replaced by aryl groups under the proposed conditions.
