Abstract

Liquid crystalline phthalocyanine bearing eight oligo(ethyleneoxy) peripheral substituents forms homeotropically aligned films on the hydrophilic surface, whereas planar alignment with a random distribution of the column directors occurs on the hydrophobic surface.
