Abstract

The presence of the =C–H···:C intermolecular hydrogen bond in 1,3-di-tert-butylimidazol-2-ylidene has been demonstrated by vibrational spectroscopy and confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis and quantum-chemical calculations.
