Abstract

Using calorimetry, 1H NMR and solubility methods, this thermodynamic study of the interactions of theophylline with α-, β- and hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrins in water at 298.15 K shows the formation of weak entropically stabilised molecular complexes only with β-cyclodextrin.
